2023 SMD
Based on Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 19 months in 50% new French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon SMD offers up currants, cassis, and black raspberries intermixed with chocolate, spring flowers, and graphite. It's medium to full-bodied and has a pure, graceful, elegant mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish.
There are 349 cases produced. Keep bottles for 15 years if you're so inclined. Drink 2025-2040.

2023 Block Five
Based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 19 months in 50% new French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Block Five offers beautiful darker blue and black fruits intermixed with liquid violets, dark chocolate, and hints of iron. It's full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, with ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish.
The balance, purity, and finesse here are exceptional, and with roughly 162 cases produced, this is a wine that will evolve gracefully for two decades or more. Drink 2025-2045.

2023 Prado
Based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Fortuna Vineyard and aged 19 months in 45% new French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Prado offers beautiful blue fruits, candied violets, graphite, and some chocolaty, spicy wood nuances. It's full-bodied and has a pure, graceful mouthfeel, polished tannins, and a great finish.
Drink this terrific 2023 over the coming 20 years. 245 cases produced. Drink 2025-2045.

2023 Reserva
Coming from Frias Vineyard and aged 19 months in 54% new French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva shows more black fruits, spicy oak, and graphite, with some dark chocolate and obvious minerality. It's medium to full-bodied, ripe, concentrated, and beautifully textured, with building tannins and a great finish.
There are roughly 245 cases produced, and it will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and drink over the following two decades. Drink 2027-2047.

2023 Vangone
All Cabernet Sauvignon from Vangone Vineyard and aged 19 months in 60% new French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Vangone Vineyard has a sensational perfume of crème de cassis, violets, blue fruits, graphite, and spicy oak. It's full-bodied and nicely concentrated, with ultra-fine tannins, remarkable purity, and beautiful balance.
With a scant 123 cases produced, this is a great wine that will evolve beautifully over the coming 12-15 years. Drink 2025-2040.

2023 Lady Of The Dead
Coming from Napa Valley but including a splash from Paso Robles, the 2023 Lady Of The Dead is based on an eclectic blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah, and 7% Mourvèdre that was raised 19 months in 35% new oak. It offers cassis, juicy blue fruits, chocolate, and peppery herbs on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, round, lush, and textured on the palate, with sweet tannins and beautiful purity.
There are roughly 697 cases produced, and it's best enjoyed over the coming decade. Drink 2025-2035.

2021 Prado
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Prado displays a deep garnet-purple color. The nose begins a little closed and broody, soon unfurling to reveal earthy notes of fragrant soil, black truffles, and tar over a core of plum preserves, warm cassis, and wild blueberries, plus suggestions of red roses and cedar chest.
Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm structure of ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the muscular black fruits, finishing long and earthy.

The medium to full-bodied palate is elegantly played, refreshing, and chock-full of energetic black fruits, textured by velvety tannins, finishing long and layered.
